2 weeks with no posts??? I suck and I promise to make it up to you.
So I have been a little side tracked lately. I NEED HELP WITH THIS!!!!
If you are interested in contributing to this blog, please let me know. I originally hoped that this would be a social platform to share great music. If you can post one song a week, it would be tremendous!!! It’s as easy as painting by numbers.
That being said. Here are a few gems that I have been slacking on. I will let the music speak for itself….
Listen: Passion Pit – Better Things
Listen: The Black Angles – Doves

Wilco – Bull Black Nova | Keepin it real with the psychedelic new pschool
I admit that I am not a HUGE fan of Wilco, but I do respect the hell out of them and love many of their cuts, thus I am a fan. What I do love about them is this; they stay true to Wilco and their fans and pump out strong albums on a consistent basis.
One gem on their great new self titled album is Bull Black Nova. This cut will lull you into a guitar piano pulse that spins beautifully out of control reminiscent of the great 70’s psychedelic sound. Of course I could say the late 2000’s psychedelic sound. Great cut for the ol’ headphones.

Neon Indian | Deadbeat Summer and 6669 – This year’s less commersh MGMT
Neon Indian’s music has a killer psychedelic electro funk 80’s new-wave indie pop sound that just makes you want to smoke a cigarette, drink a vodka tonic and wear Ray Bans while chilling by the pool of a random Motel 6 along the I-10 on the way to LA. Actually, that is a little absurd sounding, so why don’t you listen to it and let me know where you can imagine yourself listening to it at.
By the way, this years “Best Band Name” thus far. This music is way too cool for me so I have nothing more to say….

Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros | Songs for future iPod commercials – Seriously catchy
When I first heard “Home” by Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros (ES&TMZ), I was totally hooked. I felt as if I was hearing the new Indie Rock Country version Johnny and June Carter Cash. That is very high praise indeed, but I think that highly of this tune. After you listen to it 2-3 times you will swear you have heard it in a commercial (please let me know if you have in fact heard it in a commercial cuz I swear I have). It is that catchy that I am sure it will be in a future iPod commercial.
40 Day Dream has this Modest Mouse con Beatles sound that’s just killer. The lead singer, Alex Ebert of “Ima Robot” fame (great band), has this wonderful voice for this new alternative psychedelic genre. I just can’t get enough of this 11 member group (wow). I love these guys.
